THE 63rd annual Yeppoon Show this year promises to live up to its reputation as one of the best country shows in Queensland.
With a theme of “It’s Showtime”, the 2017 Coal Train Yeppoon Show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11.
The grounds are in perfect condition and entries, many from first time exhibitors and competitors, are already being received by the show society in all sections.
Yeppoon & District Show Society president Ken Landsberg said he was particularly pleased with the interest shown in the horse, cattle and woodchop sections, while current numbers are pointing to record entries both in the ring as well as the pavilions.
Mr Landsberg was expecting to see cattle, young judges and young parader entries this year to be the best ever.
The 2017 show will feature the best-ever line-up of free, non-stop entertainment from when the gates open at 8am on Saturday to the close of the show on Sunday at 5pm.
For the first time the grounds will showcase Breanna Cook’s B.J. Horsemanship show, which will feature trick riding, Roman riding and liberty shows over the two days.
Brought back by popular demand with a brand-new show will be the Eljay action-packed motorbike and bicycle stunt show, which will put on three performances on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Young patrons will not forgotten when the Kangagang presenting their Aussie Adventures and their bush instrument workshop.
After a break for several years, the society will host the Resta Snake Show, featuring the Snake Pit and Creepy Crawly display of snakes, scorpions, stick insects and giant cockroaches.
Saturday night will feature the Keppel Bay Sailing Club “It’s Showtime” night show, which will include a host of talented performers as well as local band The Breakaways.
The show will finish at 8pm and will then be followed by the largest ever monster fireworks display.
Entertainment on Sunday will include the Grand Parade at 1.30pm followed by the B.J. Horsemanship liberty display, the whip cracking competition and Eljay Freestyle Entertainment.
