A country girl working in Sydney and a Brisbane-ite with fond memories of life in Rockhampton are the two lucky winners of Queensland Country Life’s latest book giveaway.
Allen and Unwin donated two copies of Anna Daniels’ romantic comedy set in Rockhampton that has been receiving rave reviews, Girl in Between.
Isabel Davidson was quick to respond from her Bellevue Hill home in eastern Sydney, saying that as a country girl working in Sydney, she would definitely be able to relate to Lucy Crichton’s concerns of fitting in and finding the perfect balance between choosing which path is right for her life.
“This book would bring back many country memories for sure,” she said.
The other lucky winner is Barbara McGeever, who lives in Taringa in Brisbane’s western suburbs.
She said she had brought her two sons up in Rockhampton despite offers of a scholarship to a prestigious Brisbane school, and had very fond memories of the central Queensland city where Anna grew up and where she has set her debut novel.
“Good on you, Anna, for setting the novel in the area.
“I love regional towns, having been born in Monto. Go regional towns, and go Anna!”
Thanks ladies – a copy is on its way to you!
