THE ongoing negative impact of $1/litre milk resulted in plenty of fired up debate Queensland Country Life's Food Heroes event at the Platell family's Urara dairy farm near Beaudesert on Thursday.
According to farmers the ongoing sale of $1/litre milk in supermarkets was directly resulting in unsustainable returns and farmers being forced out of the industry.
The day was hosted by the Platell family on its highly productive Urara farm at Tabooba, south of Beaudesert. The Platells milk up to 360 cows producing 3 million litre of milk a year.
