The 2017 Silverdale Weaner Sale was a huge success, with agents Hayes and Co yarding 2043 head - the largest yarding of cattle in its 14-year history. The quality of the yarding was a credit to all vendors with top lines coming from the local areas and as far afield as Nebo, Yarraman, Nanango, Kilcoy, Toogoolawah, Crow’s Nest, cattle even coming from clean country to be a part of the top quality day. This drew a large panel of new buyers from the Downs and Western areas, with over 60 per cent of the yard going into clean country through feedlots and bullock growers. Heavy weaners over the scales were regularly cracking over $1,100 with open auction cattle regularly cracking over $4/kg
