A GROUP of like-minded South West Queensland landholders have come together to offer eight properties in Cunnamulla’s famed salad bowl region.
Representing a combined area of 127,145 hectares (314,182 acres), the offering has a combined carrying capacity of almost 55,000 DSE.
The properties are being offered for sale in one line, or as three separate parcels through an expression of interest process with Raine and Horne Rural, closing on June 16.
Parcel One is Yaralla (24,328ha/60,116 acres), Middleton (23,828ha/58,880 acres), and South Plain (8094ha/20,000 acres).
Parcel Two is Rosscoe Downs (15,181ha/37,512 acres) and Bundaleer (15,882ha/39,246 acres).
Parcel Three is Barrygowan (15,758ha/38,940 acres), Mintaka (15,786ha/39,008 acres), and Dunsandle (8288ha/20,480 acres).
The country, which is all located south east of Cunnamulla, is described as an excellent balance of heavy black Mitchell grass downs, gidyea and brigalow woodlands, alluvial creek flats and sandy plains.
Features of the properties include capped and piped artesian bores ensuring permanent water supplies, quality sheep and some cattle infrastructure, and well developed and maintained improvements.
Group spokesman Stuart Barkla, who with his wife Pru is offering Rosscoe Downs, said the aggregated properties were being offered to maximise the opportunities the highly productive country offered.
“We’re presenting buyers with the opportunity to acquire highly productive salad bowl country that offers scale,” Mr Barkla said.
“This is terrific country with benefits in both summer and winter seasons, especially after beneficial flooding for which it is famed.”
Rosscoe Downs and the adjoining Bundaleer has a combined carry capacity of 14,600 DSE. Barrygowan, Mintaka and Dunsandle has a combined carry capacity of 17,000 DSE.
The exclusion fences currently under construction is expected to significant enhance pasture management on the aggregations.
Middleton, Yaralla and South Plains has a combined carry capacity of 23,300 DSE (dry sheep equivalents).
