One stud reigned supreme at this year’s Toowoomba Royal Show beef cattle judging.

KBV Simmental Stud, owned by Marty Rowlands and Stephen Lean, took home Grand Championship ribbons from the Simmental breed section, Interbreed bull and female, plus the overall Malcolm McCosker Memorial Trophy Supreme Stud Cattle Exhibit of the Show. The Rowlands-Lean family’s 18-month-old bull KBV Legacy (P) won Supreme Cattle Exhibit of the Show and is by Simmental sire Bar 5 Harrach out of a KBV foundation cow, while their Grand Champion Interbreed Female winner was 32-month-old KBV Ki Ki with a bull calf at foot by Simmental sire TNT Bootlegger.

“Our KBV Legacy bull was Reserve Junior Champion at Brisbane Royal Show last year, so it’s great to see him do well here at Toowoomba,” Mr Rowlands said.

“KBV Legacy will be sold this year at Moura’s Meldon Park Simmental Bull Sale on September 25.”

The Rowlands-Lean bull will also be shown at Toogoolawah’s Simmental Feature Cattle Show in June.

“It’s a real honour to be the only cattle stud to have won the Malcolm McCosker Memorial Trophy twice,” Mr Rowlands said.
