The Collinsville, Mt Coolon, and Clermont districts have been under some long awaited rain courtesy of the rain depression following ex-TC Debbie.
Paula Heelan, who lives just 45 minutes south of Mt Coolon has reported 74mm falling over Pasha, and neighbouring Ulcanbah Stations.
“The long awaited rain has finally arrived and the Sutton River has a good flow as a result,” Paula said.
Also in the Mt Coolon district, Amanda Clarke has recorded 73mm at Ibis Creek.
Andrew and Sonya Harvey, Kenlogan, situated north-east of Clermont have reported 30mm, and it is still raining.
“It really looks like it will hang around for a while,” Andrew said.
“We have had a lot of wind, and some minor damage to roofs on sheds, but we can live with it.”
Meanwhile, Shane and Wendy Perry, Fletchers Awl, Clermont situated just south of Kenlogan have received 122mm till 6am this morning, and it is still raining.
“It is really tremendous to get this rain, and it is really widespread over the property,” Shane said.
“We are expecting that all our dams will be filled.”
Shane said the winds have been huge, and it was a worrying night, on Tuesday evening.
“We are sitting just on the edge of the eye, and the rain has really set in,” he said.
“We have not had this sort of rain from an ex-tropical cyclone since 1988, when Cyclone Charlie hit.
“Our damage received so far is losing some tin off the roof, and we are expecting to lose at least one windmill in the wind.”
Pam Pownall, who lives at Carfax, 50 km due east of Clermont has measured 150mm.
Other reports of rain include 62mm of good steady rain at Jumba Station, situated 130km south of Charters Towers.
Further south, Matt Quinn, Essex Station, located just east of Middlemount has recorded 88mm.
