A FORMAL syndication pathway has been developed for what is being promoted as the next big thing in the Wagyu breed.
Industry identity Pete Cabassi, Cabassi Wagyu, said he had developed a formal syndication pathway because he wanted prospective owners to have confidence in the planned management and marketing of the bull.
The focus of the share offering is OKBFM00612 Cabassi Manifesto V1, a son of TF146 Kikutsurudoi from a 630kg Shadai Farm cow TF40/1 by Itomichi 1/2. Manfesto weighed 356kg at 13 months, and is 70 per cent Tajima strain. The bull is described as recessive free from all five genetic disorders.
Tajima is recognised as the most famous Wagyu bloodline, originating from the Hyogo prefecture in Japan.
Manifesto is currently in isolation at Total Livestock Genetics in Victoria being readied for export collection, eligible for the US, EU, Canada, South America, South Africa and China.
“The compelling reason to be involved in this bull is that he is one of a kind, no genetics are like him in the herd outside of Japan,” Mr Cabassi said.
“His sire, TF146 Kikutsurudoi only has few descendants breeding in Australia or elsewhere. This means he is a highly desirable outcross bull because the gene pool is very small; data and anecdotes from Japan suggests the Tanifuku Doi line is also very worthy of much greater representation.
Applications are being sought from breeders and interested parties, both in Australia and internationally, wanting to buy a shareholding in the sire. Mr Cabassi said he was retaining five of the 20 shares being offered in Manifesto.
