JJ Butchard, Green Acres, Little Jilliby, owns half of a house.
He’s also only 11 years old.
JJ showed an interest in chickens at just two years of age, and now runs a successful poultry business, selling chickens at local auctions near his home in Little Jilliby, New South Wales.
He’s the director of JJ’s Chickens, and the young entrepreneur told the crowd at the Capella Food and Fibre Conference last week that he had a goal of owning enough houses to create his own town, to of course be named JJ’s Town.
JJ said he has nine pens at the moment with a variety of breeds, with at least five chickens in each pen, and he also owns two Brahman bulls and two heifers.
“The most popular at the auctions is probably the Hamburgs, because of their colourings,” he said.
