The stage is set for a jam packed weekend of action during the Adavale Campdraft, Rodeo and Gymkana being held at the Adavale Showgrounds on April 7 – 9.
Committee secretary Ruby Schmidt said the action packed weekend will feature events to suit everyones tastes.
“As we’re lucky enough to hold our show in the school holidays, it’s a great opportunity for bush kids from far and wide to bring their ponies and bikes in and have a go at lots of different events in the one weekend,” Mrs Schmidt said.
“Along with the major events, there will be fun novelty events for all ages, as well as a great canteen and bar operating all weekend, along with camping facilities and amenities,” she said.
The action will start on Friday afternoon with the maiden campdraft taking place which will be followed by the rookie and junior two-handed cutting competitions with the futurity campdraft sure to cap the night off in style.
The campdraft events will continue on Saturday morning, and after lunch the horse gymkana will start with riders of all ages encouraged to compete.
After the campdraft and gymkana events finish spectators will be treated to a great show as the best and bravest riders around battle to stay on for that glorious eight second ride during the Copai Pastoral Bull Ride.
After the dust settles from the rodeo be sure to let your hair down and have a great time on the dance floor with music set to play until late.
Sunday morning will see the cream of the crop emerge from the campdraft competition with the ladies and open events occurring, with the the finals for the maiden, novice and open competitions on after followed by an encouragement campdraft.
The weekends events will finish with roar of engines during the motorbike gymkana which will be open to riders of all ages and skill levels to compete in.
