MOURA is set to deliver a day of top class rugby on Saturday, with the Dawson Valley Drovers to take on the Condamine Cods in the annual clash for the much prized Reef and Beef Cup.
The toughened up homeside will be looking for payback with the Cods winning the trophy in close encounters for the past two years. Kick off for the main game between the Drovers and the Cods is at 6pm.
The day at The Stockyard on Moura Recreation Grounds kicks off at 2pm with a Rookies2Reds Junior Clinic. The clinic will see five to 12 year olds learning and practicing rugby skills.
At 4.30pm Biloela takes on the Rolleston Roos in a match that is also sure to provide plenty of country rugby action.
Aaron Longbottom from the Dawson Valley Drovers said the event was sure to generate plenty of action and opportunities for social interaction. “We’re looking forward to seeing a good crowd at the Stockyard,” Longbottom said. “The Cods have had the wood on us on the past two occasions but 2017 is set to be the year of the Drovers. We’re inviting all supporters to come down and enjoy a great afternoon and evening of rugby. The bar and canteen will be operating with the festivities kicking on to the late hours of the night.”
