TERRY and Heather Elliott’s two quality Bauhinia Downs properties sold under the hammer at an auction in the Rockhampton today.
Old Delargum sold for $9.4 million selling to Shane and Sandra Bishop, Garglen, Gympie.
Murraway sold for $10.025m to Scott and Lizette McCamley and family, Lancefield, Dululu.
The Elliots are retiring and have bought a house on the outskirts of Yeppoon.
The auction in the Rockhampton Leagues Club attracted about 100 people. Seven parties registered to bid on the properties.
Old Delargum is located 70km south west of Moura and covers 3207ha (7924 acres). The sale price is equal to about $2931/ha ($1186/acre).
It is described as being mainly brigalow, softwood scrub country running up to soft tableland country. It is grassed predominately with buffel and other improved grasses. There is also 520ha of leucaena, which was cut recently. Spottswood Creek runs through the property.
The property is well watered by four bores, supported by six dams. Water is pumped to 12 tanks that service 30 troughs across the property.
Old Delargum is divided into 20 paddocks and two holding paddocks. They are all connected to the cattle yards by laneways.
The main homestead has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and was built in 2011. There is also a cottage, which was built in 2012, an air conditioned donga, 35x18m machinery shed, hay shed, and two shipping containers on stumps.
Murraway is located 52km west of Moura and covers 4080ha (10,081 acres). The sale price is equal to about $2457/ha ($994/acre).
Murraway is described as a great balance of soft brigalow, softwood scrub country with areas of strong forest type country. All has been pulled and developed with improved pasture. There is 160ha of cultivation on fertile loamy soils adjacent to Conciliation Creek.
Water is supplied from nine equipped dams supplying troughs throughout the property.
Improvements include three well maintained homes, sheds, silos, and two sets of steel cattle yards.
