The stage is set for the Livestock and Rural Transport Association of Queensland (LRTAQ) and Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA) Combined National Conference taking place on February 17 – 18 in Toowoomba.
LRTAQ President Ian Wild said the conference will provide a great opportunity to hear from expert speakers about the issues that affect road transport businesses, a chance to meet your elected executive team and most importantly - have your say.
“You can also mingle with our state and national sponsors in an informal environment while you take a well-earned break catching up with old friends and making new ones,” Mr Wild said.
He said by attending this years conference in Toowoomba, guests will be helping to support the local economy with every dollar they spend in the city or surrounding areas.
“This is also a major fund raising event for our associations to help us work with all levels of government to ensure that our businesses remain profitable and safe.”
Mr Wild said as the host of this year’s ALRTA National Conference, there will be an even more on offer – so if you can only get to our conferences occasionally, 2017 is the year to do it.
Guests will be welcomed to the region by the Mayor of Toowoomba, Paul Antonio and will have the opportunity to listen to key note speaker, The Hon Stirling Hinchliffe MP – Minister for Transport while enjoying breakfast at the City Golf Club.
On Friday afternoon the ALRTA National Conference session will focus on issues relevant to the industry on a national basis such as access, braking, effluent and emerging technologies.

A trade show and sumptuous three course dinner will highlight the National Sponsors Dinner on the Friday night. A Community Breakfast will take place on Saturday morning for members of the community to learn more about the industry.
The Haulmark Trailers LRTAQ Transport Forum will be on from 11am to 4pm Saturday and will focus on issues relevant to industry on a State and National level. The forum will be followed by the LRTAQ AGM.
The conference will conclude with a great Saturday night of social activities during the Mack Trucks Australia Bull Carter’s Ball being held at the Picnic Point Cafe and Restaurant.
