Miles district beef producer Jennie Hill, Bulliac Angus Stud, has been awarded an OAM for service to the rural community of Queensland.
“I am very honoured to be selected for an OAM,” she said.
Mrs Hill is most noted for her service to the Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA), including being state president from 2011 to 2013.
She has also served in numerous other positions including vice president of the southern region (2008 to 2011), international officer, and president of her local Miles branch, and member since 1999.
Mrs Hill also was very active in the CWA while living in NSW and enjoyed a long involvement with the organisation from 1969 to 1999.
As well Mrs Hill is involved in other community groups such as secretary/treasurer of the Queensland Angus Society, member of the Chinchilla Field Naturalists Club, member and secretary of the Murilla Garden Club, and treasurer of the Cameby District Hall committee.
Also while living in NSW, Mrs Hill worked tirelessly for the State Advisory Council Rural Youth, was a member of the Area Council of the NSW Farmers Federation. Advisory Committee, Rural Counselling, Gloucester, and member of the Gloucester Ladies Show Auxiliary.
