A Rockhampton institution; Georges was established in 1899 by Catherine’s grandfather.
“My grandfather’s original store was a block away, and in 1948 my father opened a branch at the current site.
“We have lots of fourth and fifth generation customers and we do mail orders all over Queensland.
“Most mail orders seem to be placed by phone as many customers living in remote areas of the state, appreciate dealing with a person and often times use the opportunity to catch up on what is happening in store and around Central Queensland.”
