THE topic of vegetation management was at the forefront when locals met with representatives from Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party in Mitchell last Saturday.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts and the candidate for Warrego, Sharon Lohse visited Bonus Downs Station and Farmstay to meet with local landholders and business owners.

Lyle Connolly and his son Grant took guests on a tour of the property to witness first hand degraded and eroded heavily timbered lands with severe soil compaction issues compared with the same land type that the family had selectively pulled and seeded and improved to pastures.

At a barbeque gathering later in the evening graziers and local business owners discussed other challenges and community issues with Senator Roberts.

“There has been a continued and deliberate erosion of landholders property rights by consecutive state governments,” Warrego candidate Sharon Lohse said.

“They have rolled these deliberate constrictions across the management of not only vegetation but water and manipulation of land tenure for the purpose of compulsory acquisition.

“We need to unravel these damaging laws and give back the land management rights to generational custodians of the primary producers.

“Under a Pauline Hanson’s One Nation government, farmers will be given back custodianship of their land, giving way to better land management practices and once again long-term viability.”
