THE auctions of the three Longreach region properties have been set aside in the run up to Christmas.
Roseneath, which was advertised to be auctioned today, and New Deer and Smiths Lagoon which were advertised to be auctioned tomorrow, were set aside on the back on drying seasonal conditions.
Marketing agent Tim Salter, Elders, said further rain was needed to promote pasture growth and increase buyer confidence in the summer season.
Roseneath covers 20,211 hectares (49,942.36 acres) and located 80km south west of Longreach. The freehold property has a 20km of Thomson River frontage. About 80 per cent of the property is described as Mitchell grass downs and native herbage country. The balance comprises beneficial Thomson River and Tocal Creek flood out country. Roseneath is estimated to carry 1500-1700 breeders or 2000 plus dry stock or the sheep equivalent.
New Deer covers 10,402ha (25,704 acres) and is located 65km south of Isisford and adjoins Smiths Lagoon. The freehold property has a three bedroom homestead ,cottage, six stand shearing shed, quarters, and cattle yards. The property has five main and four holding paddocks.
Smiths Lagoon covers 8453ha (20,888 acres) plus a permit to occupy 84ha. The GHPL is also located about 65km south of Isisford and adjoins New Deer. The permanent Smiths Lagoon is filled by the Barcoo River and Pemberley creek when in flood. The Barcoo River and Sandy and Scrubby creeks traverse the property, providing beneficial floodout.
