A total yarding of 640 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on December 1. Steers over 550kg sold to 314c/kg and averaged 304c, while steers in the 400-550kg sold to 303c and averaged 291c.
N,B York and Sons, Yorkaringa, Wallumbilla, sold 100-day grain accredited Hereford steers to 314c for 599kg to return $1882. RD&NJ Statham, Possession Creek, Mitchell, sold Charolais steers to 310c for 614kg to return $1906.
Heifers over 450kg made to 288c and averaged 278c. No heifers were yarded in the 350-450kg weight range. Cows over 500kg peaked at 269c and averaged 240c, while cows in the 400-500kg class topped at 247c and averaged 232c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 209c and averaged 193c.
B&N Bauer, Arlington, Augathella, sold Brahman cows to 252c for 562kg to return $1417.
Bulls over 600kg earned to 264c and averaged 248c.
