WHEN the Country Women’s Association of Australia national president Dorothy Coombe took to the stage at the Queensland state conference yesterday, she had plenty of news for the nearly 400 delegates who sat eagerly before her.
Ms Coombe spoke at length about the changing face of the CWA, and the extent of the political power the group held in both national and state politics.
But there was one announcement that got the room whispering – the new look CWA logo which will become the national brand of the organisation.
But Queenslanders can rest assured – the famous blue and white of the state’s CWA logo will stay intact, but the organisation will have the option to utilise the national logo if they desire.
Coming in a colour palate of six varieties, Ms Coombe said each will become associated with a different area of the CWA’s interests and reach, including community, women, agriculture, education and health.
Also on the discussion list from Ms Coombe was the importance of keeping the CWA alive, and relevant to younger generations coming through with mediums like Twitter and Facebook to be utilised more in the future.
