Export types met with strong competition at this week's Moreton cattle sale.

Agents Boyd O’Brien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 518 cattle at Moreton on Tuesday. Values for yearlings and vealers were slightly easier from last week’s extraordinarily high rates.  Cattle returning to paddock and feedlots sold well as did good trade.  All export met strong demand and competition.

Bruce Johnson of Tallegalla sold steers for 407.2c weighing 131kg to return $534.  Angus cross steers account Dooley Pastoral of Birnam sold for 375.2c weighing 310kg to return $1163.  Charbray pastoral heifers account B & E Prior of Helidon sold for 363.2c weighing 395kg to return $1434.  Pasture steers account Pecan Pastoral sold for 357.2c weighing 445kg to return $1589. 

Alf Schmidt of Eagleby sold Brahman cross pasture steers for 323.2c weighing 516kg to return $1668.  John England of Samford sold Santa cross feeder steers for 369.2c weighing 361kg to return $1334.  Limousin cross grain assist steers account M Stenzel of Boonah sold for 362.2c weighing 340kg to return $1231.

Grain assist heifers account M Stenzel sold for 260kg to return $936.  Medium grade cows account J Hinchcliffe of Illinbah sold for 258.2c weighing 446kg to return $1152.  Gavin Klibbe sold Angus cross cows for 285.2c weighing 545kg to return $1554.  B Kammholz of Anduramba sold Droughtmaster bulls for 285.2c weighing 910kg to return $2595.
