The Roma saleyards continues to dominate as the largest saleyards, again recording the highest through-put of cattle in Queensland, for this financial year.
According to the latest figures released by Meat and Livestock Australia, 335,667 cattle were sold.
Consignments to Roma Saleyards were down this year compared to the same period last year, when Queensland was in the grip of drought. The through-put that year was 372,818 cattle.
Dalby Saleyards continues to sit in second position with a through-put of 231,764 head.
The Central Queensland Livestock Exchange situated at Gracemere, in Central Queensland sold 144,658 head.
Other saleyards making it in the top five throughout the state, includes Emerald, with a through-put of 117,479 cattle, while the Dalrymple Saleyards at Charters Towers yarded 47,204 head.
The Cloncurry Saleyards in the state’s north west does not sell on a liveweight basis, but retains the mantle of being the largest transit spelling yards in Queensland. Its through-put for transit cattle was 312,557 head.
