The spell of fine weather more than doubled the number of stock into the Dalby saleyards this week, with a yarding of 2555. There was a good mix of cattle across all classes and a fair panel of buyers was also present.
Medium and heavy weight yearling steers and heifers to feed continued to be in demand. The larger selection of export slaughter lines allowed average prices to vary in places.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed made from 359.2c to 392.2c up 14c with heavy weights averaging 371.3c. C2 medium weight heifers made to 380.2c and averaged 355.5c while the heavy C3s were up by 18c and made from 348.2 to 371.2c to average 360.4c.
Grown steers 500-600kg made from 317.2c to 347.2c with the extra heavy weights making from 314.2c to 346.2 to average 339.5c. Heavy weight D4 cows made to 280c and averaged 268.8c, back 11c/kg. Slaughter bulls were abundant in supply and averaged 279c with the best making 326.2c.
