A cavalcade of the country’s top riders are preparing themselves for tough competition at the upcoming Condamine Bell Campdraft.
A combined $71,500 in prizes and money is up for grabs over the three full days with the open winner receiving a whopping $30,000.
The Condamine Bell open draft brings riders from all parts of Australia to compete for the main prize and go into the running for the triple crown bonus.
This special competition sees horse and rider take to the ring in the hope of hitting the trifecta by winning the Condamine Bell, Chinchilla Grandfather Clock and Warwick Gold Cup.
The Rabobank open draft final will see the $30,000 major prize awarded with the Condamine Bell trophy handed over to the winner.
Originally run on a property between Miles and Condamine, the draft was moved to the grounds in the early seventies.
“Over the years the sport has slowly grown to the success it is today,” Mr Campbell, Condamine Campdraft president said.
The committee has been working tirelessly to upgrade the existing facilities.
The 2016 installment of the Condamine Campdraft is set down for the three massive days across Friday, October 14, Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16.
Riding gets underway from 7am on Friday, with competition starting at 6am across the Saturday and Sunday.
Friday’s lineup of events sees the first round on the novice class. On Saturday, spectators can treat themselves to the start of the open competition and the ladies final. While on the Sunday it is finals time of the Rabobank Open Draft Final.
