Flooded creeks added to the adventurous mystique that the Scrubby Creek gun club is known for and was all part of the fun for the 92 shooters that took part in the annual shoot at the bush recreation club 160km south of Blackall on the weekend.
In a rehearsal for the club’s 50th anniversary next year, people travelled from all over the state and as far south as South Australia to take part, along with a local buck’s party.
Some had to wait beside the Langlo River for a few days to access the sports ground while others detoured hundreds of kilometres to find an accessible route.
