"Who needs a ring when you've got a bull?"
This was the sentiment of Allison Hotz after her new fiance Steven Swan, Inala, Moura, bought Wayne and Ingrid York's Karragarra Marcus for $80,000 at the National Droughtmaster sale today.
Mr Swan said Marcus exemplified everything he believed the Droughtmaster breed needed for the future, and said the top price sire would be integrated into his stud and commercial Droughtmaster herds.
Mr Swan has recently taken over the Swan 30 stud which was started by his parents, the late Jack and Elaine Swan.
The final day of the National Droughtmaster Sale has wrapped up. In total 436 bulls sold for an average of $9596 at the clearance rate of 99 per cent.
The two-day sale grossed $4,183,500.
