Mareeba Combined Agents yarded a total of 1241 head for this week’s Prime and Store Sale. Numbers were back slightly.
A larger consignment of better quality and condition cows gave the two major processors plenty of good females values improved by 4c/kg.
Trade steers gained 11c/kg on last week’s rate of 283c to finish at 294.2c. Butcher heifers and wholesale cows sold to around same rates as last week.
Slaughter ox remained firm with tops selling to just over 290c. Heavy bulls didn’t make last week’s top of 247c but values remained firm.
Good quality store males reached similar rates as the steers with added competition from the export sector. Good quality store steers 260-380kg reached 310c.
