Records tumbled the Cardona Canowindra Santa Gertrudis Bull Sale where a record average of $8516 was attained, with bulls hitting $52,500 on the way to a 97 percent clearance at auction.
For vendors, the Atkinson family, Cardona Stud, Blackwater and the Emerald based Canowindra Stud, operated by the Wolff family it was a resounding endorsement of their product, repeat clientele and a classic example of end user satisfaction.
Cardona Patterson (P) topped proceedings at $52,500. At 960kg, (141EMA) the 21-month-old by Cardona Mambo sold to the Yulgilbar Stud, NSW.
Losing bidder on the top seller via phone was Craig Hindle’s, Bullamakinka Stud, Toobeah.
Second top at $32,500 was the 900kg, 20-month-old, Canowindra Oakley (P) selling to the Bert Bruggemann and family’s, Triple S Stud, Wandoan. By KM Bonanza, Oakley was offered in a seven-eights full possession arrangement.
Dean Carseldine, Rockadolla, Taroom outlaid $26,000 securing the 950kg, 23-month-old, (130EMA) Cardona Parkhurst (P) (Waco Yarrabin). Meanwhile the Menzies family, The Bend, Taroom retuned and in the process took six for on average $7667 topping at $13,000 for another of the KM Bonanza sons, the 31-month, 1020kg (141 EMA), Nitro (P).
Tony Harrold, Tonlena, Emerald took with him the $10,000 Canowindra Nudge (PS) ending with four for on average $6625.
Geoff Pederson, Wyseby, Rolleston accounted for four to average $7375 topping at $9500 twice while Errol and Elly-May Moller, Edwinstowe, Jericho returned taking six to average $8167. Top of his selections was the $15,000 Canowindra Outback (PS) (KM Bonanza) (18-months).
Alan Nock, Loch-Ranza Stud, Mundubbera took the $13,000 Waco Treaty son, Cardona Packer (P) whist Peter and Yvonne Webster, Glenelg, Wandoan parted with $17,000 to secure the 25-month-old Cardona Pilot (P) (Canowindra Impact) (910kg).
Ben and Amanda Adams, Dangarfield Stud, Taroom selected another of the Mambo sons, the $13,000, Cardona Pilbara (P) (22-months) (860kg).
Heath and Jenna Tiller, Goolagong Stud, Warnertown, South Australia secured the 20 straw semen share in Cardona Perfecto (P) for $8000. Shaun and Mindy Durdin, Heathwood, Springsure returned taking a pair to average $11,250 topping at $12,000 for another of the Treaty sons from Cardona.
Robert and Dolly Servin, Anchor, Duaringa picked up two for a $11,000 medium topping at $17,000 for another Mambo son, Cardona Prado (D) (900kg) (22-months).
Taking the $11,000 Canowindra No Double (P) (28-months) (990kg) (Yarrawonga Actor) were the Wilson family, Hayleigh Farms, Biggenden while Bevan McKenzie and family, Mountain View, Blackwater outlaid $8000 for another of the Treaty sons from Cardona in the 22-month-old, Pivot (P) (855kg).
Sale regulars, Matt and Anne Comiskey, Portwine, Alpha returned taking a pair to average $8500 topping at $9500 while Butch and Hazel Howard, Locharnock, Jericho picked up four to average $5250 topping at $7000.
Robert Hoffman, Theodore took a pair to average $7000 topping at $8000 for a Yarrawonga Bushman (P) son from Cardona.
