THE 460 hectare (1137 acre) Old Koreelah property Sommerville has sold under the hammer at a Ray White Rural auction in Brisbane for $770,000.
Located on the eastern fall of Legume and in the renowned breeding area of Old Koreelah, Sommerville is undulating to steep country with 360 degree views over the mountain ranges and valleys of the scenic rim.
Sommerville has an estimated carrying capacity of about 160 breeders along with 100 replacement heifers. The property is watered by Woodenbong Creek and several spring fed dams.
The sale price is equal to about $1674/ha ($677/acre).
The property consists of quality pastures including kikuyu, setaria, and native pastures on basalt soils. Timbers include grey gum, tallowwood, grey box, brush box, brown stringy and bloodwood with seven per cent of the property cleared.
