POLL Herefords sold to a top of $6000 three times to average $4340 at the Scurr family’s Border Country Bull Sale at Eversley, Texas, on Friday.
Cranbourne Pastoral, Yelarbon, paid the top money on the first occasion, $6000 for the 24-month-old Tahlan Knee Deep (Kidman Outlook/Tahlan Eclipse H32).
Tony Hynes, Riverton Pastoral Company, Riverton, also paid $6000 for the 30-month-old Tahlan Kingpin (Davenger Elite/Tahlan Eclipse S08).
Also on the top money was Owen McCauley, Yetman, who bought the 24-month-old Tahlan Knockout (Bowen Guyra/Tahlan Irish Rose).
Second top price at $5500 was the 24-month-old Tahlan Khatmandu (Bowen Guyra/Tahlan Nancy) bought Gary and Rhona, Hirning, Athlone, Tenterfield.
Volume buyers were Paul and Jenny Magner, Magnerlands, Riverton, who bought three bulls for an average $4167. The top pick at $5000 was the 24-month-old Lachdale King Billy (Bowen Guyra/Mountain Valley Glitter).
In summary 29 bulls were offered for a 78 per cent clearance.
Bulls also sold to Dalby, Yerlarbon, Bundarra, Bingera, Inverell, Bonalbo.
The sale was jointly conducted by Lehman Stock and Property, Inverell, and Ray White Rural Tenterfield.
