Bulls sold to a top price of $8000 at the Kingaroy All Breeds bull sale, held at the Coolabunia Saleyards, last Friday.
Overall the sale resulted in 39 bulls selling for an average of $4885, representing 81 percent clearance.
The sale topper was Brown Mountain Galleon K181 offered by interstate vendor Rosemary Hack, Brown Mountain Angus Stud, Bembooka, NSW and bought by the Allan and Jamie Crawford and family, Glenvillan Pastoral Co, Manneum, near Kingaroy.
Greg and Chris Bell, Kandu Limousins, Wooroolin sold Kandu Kojal (P), a son of TMF Whiskey Jack, for $7500 to Trigger Grazing, Biggenden.
Simmental bulls offered by Doug and Sue Bradshaw, Blue Dog Simmentals, Wandoan sold for $6000 on five occasions. Buyers included Gympie cattle producers George and Lyn Cotter, Galloway Downs, Goomeri, John Hopton, Dalby, and the Radke family, Wondai.
Gelbvieh bulls topped at $5500 when Weetalabah Kickass K020, offered by Adrian and Julie Nixon, Weetalabah Gelvieh Stud, Chinchilla sold to the O’Brien family, Alice Creek, near Kingaroy.
Spokesman for the selling agents, Harvey Weyman-Jones, GDL, Dalby said the overall sale average was up about $1000 on last year’s result. “The breeds in strong demand were the Angus, Limousin, and Simmentals,” Mr Weyman-Jones said.
