THE 18,200 hectare (45,000 acre) organically certified Maranoa property Leinster will be auctioned by Colliers International on October 14.
Owned and operated by Adrian and Margaret Tiller since 1973, the freehold property located about 70km south west of Mitchell has undergone relentless pasture, fencing and water improvements over the past 44 years.
Marketing agent Trenton Hindman from Colliers International said Leinster offered an impressive mixed farm enterprise, including a carrying capacity of 4000 cows or the equivalent backgrounders, secure sheep and safe lamb production and the ability to produce 60,000 goats for the local abattoir.
Mr Hindman said the property also has the potential to boost production with unique kurrajong red clay loam soils, ready for grazing oats and legumes.
Leinster has 23 subdivided paddocks to facilitate rotational grazing. It is double-fenced to exclude pigs, kangaroos and dogs. Mr Hindman said the exceptional laneway systems provide an easy-to-use avenue by which stock can be brought back to the central yards.
A sub-artesian bore, as well as numerous dams, troughs and creeks provide year-round, provide secure water to the entire property. The iconic homestead and quarters are complimented by a modern home. The property also has two airstrips, and a hanger.
