CHLOE Maxwell may be the runner-up Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl for 2016, but there is much more than meets the eye with the 19-year-old.
Ms Maxwell is a champion woodchopper, and has been competing in the event since she was just 11 years old.
“I’ve been in shows my whole life, my parents have always competed in the woodchop so it has been something we have always been around,” Ms Maxwell said.
Just one day before her Royal Queensland Show duties began, Chloe and her family flew back to Australia from America where she had been competing.
Ms Maxwell said being announced as the runner-up Miss Showgirl was an honour she never expected.
“I knew that it would be such an amazing opportunity but I never had any idea actually how great it would be,” she said. The teenager is studying business and journalism, and works for Surf Lifesaving Queensland.
