Limited number of bullocks and very few heavy cows were yarded with the market easing slightly for these categories while trade and store cattle sold marginally dearer. Good quality bulls from Mark Gorkow, Cambooya 279.2c/kg. Heavy bullocks, Mt Darry to 324.2c to return $2071, with a consignment of 36 heavy steers from Roma 332.2c average weight 516kg. Small run of heavy feeder steers reached 345.2c. Best cows from Peter Brazier, Emu Creek topped at 260.2c. Trade steers in pen lots sold to 346.2c. Trade heifers from Goodya sold to 327.2c. Feeders steers suitable for the trade reached 365.2c. Store steers ex McRae’s block, Emu Creek 234kg sold in pen lots to 362.2c. Lightweight store steers from Jim Sandeman, Cooyar sold for 398.2c.
TOOWOOMBA PIG SALE
A total of 93 pigs yarded on July 25 in Toowoomba. Pork again in small numbers sold to a dearer market. Sows sold even dearer than last week. Store pigs once again sold to strong results especially for the heavy stores. Prime Pork $252, Prime Light Bacon $240, Sows to $310, Stores $170, Weaners $120 and Suckers $88.
