Numbers at Dalby sale were almost halved on the previous week’s level, with 3752 yarded.
Feeder operators were the major buyers in the young cattle section, and in places yearling heifers and steers to feed outsold the slaughter classes. The larger supply of bullocks contained a fair percentage of full mouth classes and prices tended to ease.
Cows generally sold to stronger demand with plain conditioned lines 5c dearer, and good heavy cows also experienced some improvement.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed made from 345c to 364.2c to average 354.8c and heavy weight steers sold to 355.2c/kg.
A fair sample of C2 yearling heifers to feed made from 320c to 353.2c and averaged 344.4c/kg.
Medium weight grown steers to feed made from 300c to 338.2c and averaged 318c with grown heifers making to 311.2c/kg.
Heavy weight D3 and D4 cows made from 252c to 279.2c with the D4s average at 268.7c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 286.2c/kg.
