Vendors, Brett and Vanda Hick have listed their Northern Territory property, Manners Creek, for sale for $15 million including 11,000 cattle and plant.
Manners Creek is situated 270km from Mt Isa on the Queensland-Northern Territory border, and bisects the Plenty Highway from east to west.
Comprising 679,886 hectares, the country is a good balance of open and semi-open gidyea country with a good mixture of native pasture including Mitchell and Flinders grass, Buffel and Spinifex plus a wide range of seasonal herbage.
The country is watered by 37 bores pumped from a combination of solar and diesel motors to troughs and tanks.
A number of creeks flow through the property, giving flood-out country, including Manners Creek from which the property takes it name.
Manners Creek is fenced into six main paddocks, has four sets of cattle yards, and a homestead complex.
According to selling agent Peter Dowling, Manners Creek is a good combination of breeding and fattening country.
“It is country that can be run as a very low cost operation for maximum returns, with scope to increase its carrying capacity,” Mr Dowling said.
