IT may have been disjointed, but the Queensland Outback Barbarians have more than delivered, beating division one side Calgary Canucks 72-7.
In a 12 try blitz, the Barbas again used its tough defense and control at the break down to service its fast finishing backs. The Barbas repelled the Canucks attack on multiple occasions and held up two balls over the line.
The Barbas played in their Toy Story inspired cowboy playing strip as part of the Calgary Stampede celebrations. The strip also in support of Bush Kids, a community organisation which offers a range of free allied health services to children and families in rural Queensland.
The game lacked some of the intensity of the previous clash with division three team Red Deer Titans. That more physical game played only 48 hours before left a number of the tourists' forwards going into the Calgary clash still stiff and sore.
Despite the quick turnaround, the Barbas dominated the Canucks from get go and led 32-7 at the break.
Barbas' No8 Andre Van Staden (Toowoomba) was inspirational, keeping the locals on the backfoot with his damaging runs and rugged defense.
The Canucks sole points came when the inside centre Chad Spence fed a beautiful ball to the captain and winger Jackson McDonough who ran a great line to go in under the posts.
The Canucks best on field was second rower Dan Cunningham, a former Melbourne who has played for the Canucks for the past five years.
The Calgary win delivers a six game clean sweep of the Canadian leg of the 2016 tour.
The Barbas now enjoy a six day break to enjoy the Calgary Stampede before heading to the US for the final two games of the tour.
The next game is in Bellingham in Washington State followed by the Eugene in Oregon.
