There was a yarding of 5086 at Dalby sale this week, with the supply of stock almost doubled and the overall quality fair to good. Medium heavy weight yearling steers to feed lifted a further 4c to 8c and medium weight yearling heifers gained 11c/kg, while heavy weight yearling heifers were noticeably dearer. The larger number of export slaughter lines of heavy grown steers, bullocks and cows generally maintained the improved prices of the previous sale.
Light weight yearling steers to feed made to a top of 375c with a good supply averaging 363.3c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made from 337.2c to 351.2 to average 347.6c. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 356.2c to average 338.7c, while the heavy weights to feed made to 348.2c and averaged 339.6c.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks made to 349.2c to average 344.5c, up by 7c. Heavy weight 4 score cows averaged close to 283c and made to 295.2c. Heavy bulls made to 287.2c.
