BRUCE Hood’s well known Springsure breeding and finishing property Mt Sunday will be auctioned in Emerald on July 1.
Located 69km south of Springsure, the 4990 hectare (12,331 acre) property has about 1000ha of elevated brigalow and softwood scrub country that has been developed to buffel. There is also about 600ha of broken creek flats including 400ha that has previously been cultivated.
The balance of the property consists of blue gum hollows, and low ridges timbered with silver leaf ironbark, mountain coolibah, box, wilga and Moreton Bay ash, running to harder ridges of narrow leaf ironbark, cypress pine, lancewood, budgeroo, wattle, and other species.
The property is estimated to run more than an 1000 cattle.
Stock water is supplied from nine bores and six dams which service a network of tanks and troughs. There is also a new bore that has not yet been equipped. Previously, 40ha has been irrigated using a centre pivot.
Mt Sunday is fenced into 10 main paddocks, holding paddocks, mustering squares, and laneways leading to the cattle yards. The yards are constructed from steel and cable and feature a double deck loading ramp.
Other improvements include a homestead, a second home, cottage, and numerous sheds.
