Mike Wheeler Livestock & Property offered 335 yearlings, vealers and calves at Woodford on Monday. The onset of winter and drying conditions ensured numbers remained high. The quality was again of a high standard with competition remaining strong for all descriptions. Values remained firm on last week’s rate and vendors continue to be well rewarded for quality.
Sale highlights included an outstanding draft of Brangus milk tooth steers a/c I & C McLachlan, Rocksberg, for $966 and $876. Iris Wessling, Kilcoy, sold Greyman vealers for $681. AJ Crowe, Kilcoy, sold Brangus vealers for $676. Bev Jensen, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster cross vealers for $571. JW & KE Green, Villeneuve, sold an outstanding pen of Droughtmaster replacement vealer steers for $606. Sommer Bros, Maleny, sold cull Friesian cow to $1396.
