THE sun shone brightly on this year's Goondiwindi Show with strong attendance and great feedback from all who attended.
The festivities began with the Aspects Art Show on the Thursday evening, continuing with a successful campdraft, prime cattle judging and merino sheep competition.
Popular new showcases this year were the home brew competition, the Lumberjack Show and the launch of children's wear designer Chrystal Henry's "Love Henry" Winter Launch. Where local "pint sized models" showed off her collection in the middle of the showgrounds.
The Young Farmers Challenge was taken out by an all-girl team, Lauren Sullivan, Rachel Maskell, Cait Sullivan and Kristen Sullivan putting their male competitors to shame.
Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl Michelle Mesner, originally Goondiwindi's Miss Showgirl and Show Secretary Kerri Robertson led a group of dedicated volunteers to make this years show come to life.
“It was fantastic, All of our events and sections were well supported," Michelle Mesner said.
“I've heard really great feedback about our entertainment and our displays, especially the adventure exhibit and Gundy vets, and the Lumberjack Show was also really popular.”
Beautiful weather prevailed and lasted the weekend, a welcome change after two years of fierce cold winds, and torrential rain at the Goondiwindi Show.
