REMOTE South Australian outback nurse Gayle Woodford not only wanted to make a difference, but gave her heart and soul helping those in need – only to have her life taken away.
Gayle’s murdered body was found in early April, crudely dumped in a shallow grave in the red dirt, not far from the tiny community of Fregon.
She had been committed to the remote community of Fregon for more than four years, and is deeply missed.
Remote Area Nurses (RAN) are instrumental in delivering and improving access to healthcare in isolated communities across the expansive outback.
These nurses operate far outside the metro area, which means they are on call after hours and usually expected to attend after hours emergencies as single responders.
A final tribute to Gayle has been posted by RAN in honour of their fallen friend and colleague.
