Celebrating the 81st year of show, along with the proud title of ‘longest running event’ in the Banana Shire, the Callide Valley Show will be back again on May 13-14. Callide Valley Agricultural & Pastoral Society organisers said the miss showgirl and junior miss showgirl competitions have created great interest this year with judges looking forward to seeing a high number of young women compete at the show.
Among the many competitions will be a bevy of entertainment options for all the family to enjoy. Come along and witness MTV Productions as they present Pig Racing Australia – the racing and world famous diving pigs as seen at the Ekka 2015. Bawdens’ Cockatoo Chaos will be there throughout the two day event with a wildlife experience you’ll never forget.
For the young at heart, Big Top Entertainment will present Circus Spectacular, an amazing aerial net display along with clowns, hula-hoops, magic illusion and more. CQ Sub Chamber Rural Ambassador 2015, Kylie Hopkins will open the 81st Annual Callide Valley Show which will also feature a huge array of pavilion exhibits including hand craft, produce, cooking and art. The Ute Muster will be taking place again with the judging, commencing on Saturday at 9.30am. Motorcycle night will kick off on Friday evening at 6pm. The Rodeo will wrap up the festivities on Saturday at 5.30pm with fireworks at 7pm.
