As Anzac Day celebrations and commemorations move into their 101st year, thousands turned out from dawn until dusk to pay their respects in regional areas.
The dawn service at Taroom was followed by a rowdy game of two-up in the afternoon and attracted keen punters and a supportive crowd.
At Theodore, the young and the young at heart gathered for a parade and service at 10am with a brief interlude to witness a special Air Force fly-over.
The number of children present in both communities was a sure sign Anzac Day would thrive for many years to come.
