THE Sheppard family’s prized Muckadilla property Bindyego has sold at a Ray White Rural auction for $3.13 million today (Friday).
The buyers were Lance and Tracey Horsely from Moonie. The sale price is equal to about $1498/ha ($606/acre).
Located 62km west of Roma, the 2089-hectare (5163 acre) grazing homestead perpetual lease is recognised Maranoa cattle country close to Australia’s largest cattle selling centre.
It has quality black, self-mulching downs country with the balance being brown loamy to chocolate scrub soils growing buffel, bambatsi, creeping blue, Rhodes and premier digitaria
About 650ha of Bindyego is currently cultivated with 200ha planted to forage sorghum.
Water is supplied by a bore and four dams. Other improvements include a three bedroom home, a three bedroom cottage, machinery shed, grain shed and steel cattle yards.
