SANTA steers from Tin Horse, Rathdowney, sold for a top of $1525 at Bartholomew and Co’s 11th annual All Red Show and Sale in Beaudesert today. The two years olds were earlier judged the top pen of steers suitable for future export.
Auctioneer Garth Weatherall from Bartholomew and Co said the 507 head yarding included a top line-up of heavier feeder steers. The show was judged by Glen Perrett, Bowenfels Pastoralists, Goomeri.
“The yarding sold to a very competitive panel of both grass and grain finishers,” Mr Weatherall said.
“Females were in short supply, with quality meeting strong demand.”
Braford steers aged 18 months from Graham Isbell, Coulson, sold for $1480. Pearl Martin, Kerry, sold 18 month old Droughtmaster-cross steers for $1440. Hills Family, Chinghee, sold 18 month old Droughtmaster steers for $1390.
Senepol-cross steers aged two years from Michael Kingsnorth, Mt Tamborine, sold for $1,85. Saddleback Pastoral, Canungra, sold 18 month old Droughtmaster steers $1335. Droughtmaster-cross steers aged 18 months account Bob and Veronica Bright, Christmas Creek, sold for $1305.
Droughtmaster steers aged 12 months from Larapinta Droughtmasters, Laravale, sold for $1075. Jon Stiller and Co, Allenview, sold a Limousin-cross weaner steer with show potential for $1400. Echo Hills Cattle Co, Laravale, sold Santa steers aged 12 months for $900.
Droughtmaster weaner steers from San Ed Cattle Co, Esk sold for $875. Brian and Kathleen Panitz, Rathdowney, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $825. Mike Bauer, Canungra, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $825. Stephanie Malmborg, Rosevale, sold Droughtmaster-cross weaner steers for $800.
Ashley and Sasha Stevens, Moogerah, sold two-year-old Droughtmaster heifers for $1400. Santa heifers aged 12 months from Echo Hills Cattle Co sold for $960. Gary Harris, Harrisville, sold 12 month old Droughtmaster heifers for $995.
Limousin-cross weaner heifers account Jon Stiller and Co sold for $900. Hereford-cross heifers account Neil Vaccaneo, Pine Mountain, made $905. A Droughtmaster bull offered by Gary Harris sold for $2900.
The next Beaudesert Store Sale will be held at 9.30am on February 20.
