KALBAR exhibitors brought the 85th annual show to life, with quality entries across the cattle, produce and equestrian sections, on June 13 and 14.
Teviotville grower Ashley Haag entered 38 classes in the farm produce section at this year’s show.
He took home a score of prizes and was also named the most successful exhibitor.
Mr Haag competes at nine shows in the area each year and also helps prepare the Moreton district exhibit at the Ekka.
“I’ve been exhibiting at shows since I was 12,” he said.
“Showing is in the blood – my grandfather started competing in 1901 at the Burnett Show.”

Kalbar Show Society president Neil Goetsch said gate numbers were up at this year.
“We had good entry numbers in the stud cattle and horse section,” he said.
“There was also a strong turn-out for the mini rodeo and the night program.”
More than 103 entries competed in the stud cattle section at the Kalbar Show on Saturday.
Fraser MacFarlane, Flinders Brahmans, Harrisville, took home the title for supreme champion exhibit with 33-month-old Brahman bull Flinders Ranger.
