A strong clearance and some impressive high prices led to a successful result for vendors at the 39th annual Australian Brangus Cattle Association (ABCA) Rockhampton Brangus Sale this week.
After Monday’s stellar female sale, the bulls proved to be just as sought after by the strong buying gallery on Tuesday.
The sires gathered pace throughout the sale to average $7023 across a quality draft of 133 bulls.
The top priced bull, Charlevue Centre Time (P), was offered by Jane Geddes, Charlevue Brangus and sold for $46,000, to well known seedstock breeders, Bruce and Leanne Woodard, Bonox Brangus Stud, Taroom.
The Pearce family’s Telpara Hills Ali920J14 (P) (AI)(ET), garnered the second top price of $32,500, selling to Mal and Sue Burton of Broadlea, Nebo.
Remarkably, a total of four bulls broke through the $30,000 barrier, with a further 15 collecting five-figure price tags.
BKDJ Pty Ltd was the volume buyer of the sale, purchasing twelve bulls for a total outlay of $38,000.
The female sale topped at $28,000 with 41 females averaging $5339.
Lachlan and Maddi Brown, Gracemere, were the winning bidders for Telpara Hills Miss Final Cut, which was pregnancy tested in calf. The sale resulted in resounding applause from the 150-strong crowd at the Gracemere selling complex.
