THE dreams of over 340 competitors were realised at the Yeppoon Pony Club over four days of competition from April 17 to 20.
The local pony club was host to the Pony Club Association State Show Jumping and Jumping Equitation for 2014.
Riders came from across the state, with a sizable contingent having to escape from Tropical Cyclone Ita, and take the inland route to come from Cairns and the Atherton Tableland.
Riders also travelled from as far south as Warwick.
Others came in their droves from all places in between and from as far west as Quilpie and Longreach.
Riders in classes from 10 years and under, through to 17–26 years plied their trade over the four days.
The club provided four rings which were fully utilised for the duration of the event.
Central Queensland was well represented at the event under the banner of “Zone 27” however the club that had the most success at the event was Noosa Club, taking out the major individual and team trophies. Members from Yeppoon Pony Club acquitted themselves well.
Alexandra and Rowena Barlow were successful and placed in a number of classes over the four days.
Another family represented by Stacey and Dana Anderson also were well represented on the victory dais.
Other Yeppoon riders included Emily Downie who was a regular placegetter in her classes.
Daniel Pye, Eleanor Fisher, Jasmine Ritter, Tyla Cringle, and Emily Lang also represented well and most gained placings throughout the competition.
The Yeppoon Club will be hosting the Pony Club State One Day Event in July this year.
