THE team at BMO Dalby has given a helping hand to farming families struggling with the drought by making a large grocery donation via Aussie Helpers.
Marketing officer Chelsea Wyatt, who organised the food collection, said she had been concerned about the financial pressures many were facing because of the current weather conditions.
"With a hot and dry Christmas expected, it is going to be a tough season for many farming families," Chelsea said.
"We wanted to do something to help lift the spirits of those who are having a rough time, especially coming into holidays."
With about 70 per cent of Queensland drought declared it's been one of the longest and most widespread droughts on record.
BMO team members and other people from the community donated a huge range of items including canned food, biscuits, wine, sporting goods, pantry items, and shampoos and other toiletries.
"It was really great to see people get behind the cause," Chelsea said.
"We know Aussie Helpers will get these items to people who really need them. We hope it makes a small difference."
