POPULAR stud stock stalwart Blake Munro has celebrated 40 years of service with Elders at his Toowoomba office.
Staff members, former managers Leo McMahon and Ken Waters, and industry friends including Garth Fitzgerald of Millmerran Rural Agencies joined Blake, his wife Therese, daughter Danielle and first grandchild Ava at Elders' South Street office on Friday for morning tea.
Elders northern zone livestock manager Andrew Hosken, Tamworth, NSW, presented Blake with an anniversary tie, wallet and special plaque acknowledging his four decades of service.
Blake has been involved with the agency game for
44 years, having joined Primaries in Brisbane in 1971 as an office boy, before embarking on his career with Australian Estates in 1975, which was eventually taken over by Elders.
He began working at their Brisbane head office in a similar role before taking up various branch positions across Queensland at Roma, Wallumbilla, Inglewood, Hughenden, Texas, Longreach, Pittsworth, and for the past 20 years, as Elders Queensland stud stock manager based in Toowoomba. Blake said he was proud to be part of such an iconic company like Elders, and to be part of an organisation which strove to deliver good service to their clients. The agency game was a simple business which was basically about looking after your clients, knowing what they wanted and knowing their business needs by keeping in contact.
"There have been some good and bad times, but through it all, friends, family and clients have supported me the entire journey," he said.
